I really enjoyed this for the most part.
I loved the animal side of the story, both the vet practice and the rescue!
I enjoyed and liked all the main characters, and cared for them quite a bit. It had me choke up here and there and one especially suspenseful scene even saw a tear or two.
My only complaint about the characters is the over interpretation of the main character, in regards to her love interest. I know people like that, so it's not unrealistic, just not how I tick. I don't expect my partner to answer a message within 10 minutes or less...
That's purely a personal pragmatic problem though, not the books fault, so I'll still give it the full score!
A story that combined animals, a romance, a bit of a crime novel, mystery, some problematic topics like illness or going missing, Christmas spirit and most of all a lot of heart!
