I don't read a lot of mystery, and I didn't know it was a mystery getting into it, but it kept me engaged. The discourse about the lack of Black executives is evenly displayed throughout the book and doesn't feel overly stated. It was mostly an easy read except one or two scenes with themes of sexual abuse.

Page 47. It's so interesting how when one black person or minority or a small group makes it higher in the ranks and the rest of their people are slept behind, the ones who are struggling feel resentment more often than pride. And the ones who are successful feel guilty or traitorous, and often can't find the means to uplift others due to the system they're in, a systematic racist system.
