The Gentrification of the Mind: Witness to a Lost Imagination by Sarah Schulman

3.0

I'm really trying with Sarah Schulman, everything by her sounds interesting in theory, but this, like her novels, is obnoxious, overly self obsessed, and convinced that things are true just because she wishes it so. Chunks of this are good, valuable, and interesting, but there are those grating moments where she calls perfectly normal things "gentrification" and I roll my eyes so hard it gives me a headache. Unfortunately underwhelming.
