Kiss Her Once For Me by Alison Cochrun

Did not finish book. Stopped at 51%.
The premise of this book seems so good. I love fake dating and then the love triangle aspect where Ellie has to choose?! I was sold. Unfortunately this premise is incorrect. It is not fake dating. We do not see Ellie and Andrew together like at all despite being “engaged” and there is nothing there. It is not a live triangle. Ellie is madly in love with Jack. Her choice is between Jack and money and , with the way her feelings and the relationship she supposedly has with Jack is described, that just doesn’t seem like a choice.

Also the writing is very repetitive. Ellie is constantly thinking about how much she loves Jack (or fooling herself into thinking that she is over her), how terrible her life is and what a failure she is, and how awful and abusive her parents are. But she does nothing about any of those things, just whines and complains.

Also, reviewers on the ace spectrum have commented how terrible the demisexual rep is with the whole insta love plot.
