I listened to the audiobook, and it is one of my favorite audiobooks I’ve ever listened to. I loved the first book, and this second book was just as good, if not better. The narrators do an amazing job, and it doesn’t hurt that the writing is beautiful to listen to. Pike immersed me in the mysterious world of the Britains and Picts, and made me fall in love with each character.

Feeling their loses and pains were all the more emotional knowing that, eventually, the battle they were waging would eventually be lost.

I’m very curious to see what happens in book three, and how anything further may tie into the legend of King Arthur. I also just want to know how what happened to these historical figures.
