UGH.
I have a rule that if I can’t get into a book by page 100 I put it down. That was the case with this book, and I have a lot to say about it lol
First off trigger warnings for this book that I didn’t find listed anywhere:
- Death of a spouse and parents
- Murder
- Descriptions of self mutilation
- Stalking
- Pedophilia (from what I gathered from other reviews with spoilers)
The main character, Mariana is... not smart. I don’t care how often I’m reminded this woman went to Cambridge and is now a group psychotherapist or whatever she is. If she was my therapist I would run far away, or be like her client Henry and stalk her. She wouldn’t tell anyone or do anything at all about it, obviously
