“you’re the oxygen that feeds my flames — without you, my existence is questionable.”
this book felt like the climax after the slow burning build up that is this series, and yet this couple is the very foundation in which everything was built. the girl who shaped everyone's paths and the boy who guided their way. she was the moon, casting everything in shadows and he the shadowman, who wanted her burning brightly. the fuel and the flames. the woman who looked death in the face and the man that was death. and still, these two characters evoked the most intimate act of all, two people who have had everything else been taken from them apart from a kiss, finally wanting to give that one thing truly theirs to each other. he didn't try to fill in her cracks (like dante and amara's relationship metaphor with the art of kintsugi), he gave her the stars instead.
