Jesus Through Pagan Eyes: Bridging Neopagan Perspectives with a Progressive Vision of Christ by Matthew Fox, Mark Townsend, Barbara Erskine

Did not finish book. Stopped at 7%.
A book full of cultural appropriation and ego. The writing and premise seemed promising to begin with, or perhaps enough to glean useful information with a critical and analytical eye to leave out the insensitive parts, but the sheer amount of bastardisation and misapplication/inappropriate Westernisation of non-Western traditions ruined any authority on the spirituality in the book. Not only that, but the author very quickly shows themselves to be completely unaware of religious history and presents a significant amount of false information. A complete waste of time, the influence and intersection of paganism and Christianity has been researched and written about extensively for decades (despite what the author presents about their work), and many of those resources are objectively and unequivocally better.
