Horus Rising by Dan Abnett

4.0

Warhammer 40k is incredibly vast, with nearly 400 published works. Horus Rising is generally considered to be a good starting point. And to that I say, maybe? The best starting point are YouTube videos, as there was still do much referenced and unexplained that outside research needed to be conducted.

As for this book. I found it to be pretty good. A Scifi epic that captures both the brutality and brotherhood of war. With surprisingly deep characters, gripping action, and tender moments, I can see why Dan Abnett is the one of the well regarded 40k author.
