Professor Dowell's Head by Alexander Belyaev
Did not finish book. Stopped at 52%.
This book is supposedly an ethical exploration of performing experiments on humans with the efforts of reviving their consciousness after death.
The story was too straightforward which wouldn't be a problem if the event's weren't getting too repetitive at one point. I was waiting for a plot twist but it never showed up despite reading halfway through . The writing was too mediocre. There was more telling than showing. I didn't enjoy that. At some point it felt like reading a text message. There was no buildup between events. Things just happened.
Honestly, I think the idea was quite interesting but it's execution was lousy. To be fair, I didn't read the remainder so I can't comment whether things remained the same or improved because I was too exhausted to continue. I was quite dissapointed. Perhaps, I expected too much.
