A Different Mirror: A History of Multicultural America by Ronald Takaki

4.0

This book was a very difficult read because, throughout, I was confronted with the lies of white people and the truth of minorities subjected to centuries of white violence against them.
This book was also very educational, well written, and honest. I appreciate the authors failure to mince words or sugar coat anything.
I also love the Shakespearan allusion and metaphor throughout to explain how different immigrant groups or native groups were treated in this country. It makes the narrative more seamless.
