Thoroughly enjoyed this book!
I decided to start reading some horror books before spooky season this year and I got this book back in January and I’ve been excited to read it since then. But I wanted to wait until the fall. It was much more gruesome than I was expecting, but that wasn’t a bad thing. But I will say if you have a weak stomach, this is not for you! There were parts of this book that had my jaw dropped to the floor because the scenes that were creating my head were crazy! I don’t even have words to say!
Aside from all the blood and gore, the story was fantastic! I also like how this grave is a real grave over in Scotland. It makes it feel real.
The ending was the best. Although I knew there was not going to be a way to kill Maggie with just an ax, I couldn’t believe how Beth turned on her friend Alice. I was scared at first to finish the last few pages because of what I thought was going to happen, but then it clicked; I knew that wasn’t her baby and I knew what was gonna happen to Beth and she deserved every bit of it.
If you’re looking for a book for spooky season, this is a great one!
