Ellie and her friends decide to leave the town of Stratton and make their way back to their hideout in Hell with a small group of almost feral children that they've found.
The majority of this book is about the group taking care of the children. The increased need for food leads to one of the most action packed scenes in the whole series.

I've discovered that their was a movie made based on these books...I may have to hunt down a copy.
