Peace Talks by Jim Butcher

4.0

Not my favorite in the series, but any time spent with Dresden voiced by Marsters is going to be a delicious experience. Throw in a Molly appearance and a (be still my heart) Michael Carpenter chapter, and you won't find me complaining.

Butcher's ease with vocabulary always cheers me, as well as his style of humor. I barked out an actual laugh at the growled, "You're a wizard, Harry" -- and in retrospect it shows incredible restraint that line hasn't been deployed until now.

Knowing that after the long wait since last installment this book and the next will be released only a month apart, there is the distinct aroma of the one-story-split-in-two phenomenon that has plagued several film franchises in recent years. This book has its independent action, but more than others it seems to be primarily a runway to the climactic events of the next one.
