This book was fine, but because of the first chapter I was constantly waiting for it to happen in the book, and then when it did, the book ended quickly.

In the present time, the book starts with the day of Mia’s ex-husband’s and Gray’s mother’s wedding. Mia decides to have a spa day then, and Gray hasn’t been in the country for more than a few days (he just returned from Spain). Some things happen (Gray’s mother and her new husband are awful) and it leads to Gray staying with Adam and Mia. Slowly, Gray and Mia’s relationship changes and grows. Then the inevitable and predictable conflict happens, and after two or so more chapters, the book ends.

The conflict was obvious, especially after the first chapter, so throughout the whole book I was just waiting for the situation to blow up. After it did, I felt like I could enjoy the story and I was excited to see how it was going to be resolved and the characters’ interactions, but nothing was shown really. There’s one chapter of the aftermath, and then it’s the epilogue. I wanted more.

I liked Gray and Mia, but I couldn’t really get into their story because I knew what was going to happen. I think I would have wanted to see more scenes of them doing things together, and them interacting with Adam after he knew.

I liked Stella and I thought she could have been a really fun character, but she wasn’t shown enough. There weren’t really any other characters.

I liked this book, but it wasn’t for me.
