There was quite a bit of Scottish slang as the story is set in Glasgow, Scotland and the author is Scottish. However, it was interesting to learn many new words. The characters in the story made me reflect who I aspire to be in society and how I want to live my life moving forward. I think the author did a good job foreshadowing what may have happened in Eleanor's past.
Graphic: Alcoholism, Emotional abuse, Toxic relationship, and Suicide attempt
Moderate: Mental illness and Grief
