Loving the Legend by Kit Grey

Arc Review

So I had to sit back and think about what to say about this book.
This is the first basketball romance I’ve ever read. This book blew me away. I wasn’t sure what I expected going in but my god was it good.
Tyler “Ty” Washington lost his parents at 17 in a tragic accident. I really related to Ty and his grief and anger, as I lost my mother is an eerily similar way also being a senior in high school so that hit me in the feels. After losing his parents his main focus becomes basketball and making it pro to honor his parents memory. However Ty doesn’t want to deal with his pain, grief, and anger and it begins to consume him and affect his every day life.
Sid “The Wonder Kid” King. God this man is swoon worthy. He’s a pro baller, and has also dealt with his fair share or hurt and grief. I loved his character so much. He was such a good friend to Ty before they became more.
Ty and Sid’s chemistry was through the roof. They were fast friends turned lovers, but Ty’s grief began to take a toll on their relationship. Sid tried so hard to love Ty through it, and without being overbearing. In the end Ty was the one who has to save himself.
The only things I struggled with was the amount of slang used, I didn’t understand some of it and it was also it was only told from Ty’s point of view.
I loved this book so much. I cannot wait for the next one.
