Colton by Jenna Myles

4.0

Jenna Myles is keeping up the romantic momentum with this one! Things with the Brash Brothers seem to only get more romantic and swoon worthy as time goes on. I was so excited for Evie to get her story. She deserved something good after everything she sacrificed and lost by trying to help Holly. And so did her little girl, Mia.

Colton was drawn to Evie before he even met her and reading about everything he did to get one of the apartments ready for her before he was even sure she was coming? So freaking romantic, I could barely take it. This book kept me grinning from ear to ear throughout the entire thing. Well, almost. There were certainly some times that had me frowning or frustrated with a character. Whether it was Colton for making some dumb and impulsive decisions or Evie for hurting his feelings because of all the walls she put up around her heart. There were also a few times I was absolutely enraged, which was pretty much any time Evie’s family was mentioned.

There was no doubt Evie has had it rough. And it was understandable why she struggled to believe that someone would do kind things for her with no expectation of getting something in return. After all, when she did something kind for someone else, she certainly paid the price. So I understood where she was coming from. And Colton made a few mistakes of his own and also didn’t exactly grow up in the best of situations. He also had some family issues of his own. But he was still a super sensitive character that had fallen not only for Evie, but for Mia too. The chemistry between Evie and Colton was through the roof. And Colton’s sexiness factor went way up with how he interacted with Mia.

Jenna brought the love and protectiveness I am beginning to expect from her novels. But she also blew me out of the water once again with the way she writes character development. Everyone’s evolution in this one was so natural and everything just flowed so well. Things progressed amazingly and there was more than enough going on to keep me entertained and immersed in the world she has created for us. I can’t wait for the next one!
