The Motorcycle Diaries: Notes on a Latin American Journey by Ernesto Che Guevara

adventurous hopeful informative reflective fast-paced

4.0

I have always held Che in high regard, but reading a formative work of his, seeing how he talks about the need for humanity to come together, has made me want to read everything of his that is published. At times it was pretty dull, which isn’t a critique but it is something to note. Since these were Che’s personal notes from his trip, they aren’t meant to be entertaining, so at times I felt the repetitive nature of some of the stops get to me and I had to reread pages to avoid flying past the good stuff. A must read for every Latine person, every aspiring revolutionary, every leftist, and anyone looking to see the beginnings of one of the most recognizable revolutionaries of the last century.
