Im honestly shocked I even finished this.
So I understand this book was written 14 years ago? Yes. Doesn’t make the book good, though. This is a book that honestly shouldn’t be suggested to people if they are struggling with mental health issues, are gay, have been sexually assaulted. Or have most forms of trauma. The least the new reprint of this book could have done was added TWs. At the bare minimum that could have happened.

As for the story, it’s 2022 so it’s hard to read a book about a gay character that tried to commit suicide because he’s gay. Not because that isn’t real life, but because I think this book is poorly written and doesn’t do the main character justice.

I read about this book and it said for people who enjoyed 13RW and TPOBAW. Two books I enjoyed and think handled mental health in ways that lost YA books hadn’t. I think those books still hold up even now. But this book doesn’t.
