The Jewel of the Kalderash is an insanely underrated masterpiece from Marie Rutkoski. The last in the Kronos Chronicles series, it mixes more political intrigue than the previous two, while also being filled with espionage,
adventure, corruption, magic, and so much more. It shows the development of the main characters, and the ultimate corruption and evil of the villain, coming together to form a wonderful story with a diverse cast, and the positive representation of Romani people that I craved as a child-- Though I'll be the first to admit that it is flawed.
I read this series as a child, and Petra was a strong influence on me and my presentation as a strong, masculine girl. Her relationship with her friends was something I craved, and furthermore, the writing still inspires mine.
