PI and State Attorney investigate a wrongful conviction and murders in the past and present. As usual, KR weaved a immersive, interesting suspense plot with lots of players and super bad guys. The leads are great  - they're both brave and determined, and I especially loved him, his protectiveness and his core of integrity.

Their connection is admittedly instant but intense (KR's trend but I'm not mad about it), but given the circumstances, their romance works and is believable. Loved the sexual tension, and the moment when they finally give in. The trust and respect they have for each other really drives their chemistry. Would've loved an epilogue into their future, however!
