Neve is put in a horrendous position of having to choose between losing a case or her life. As a leading barrister, this is not something she takes lightly. Regardless of whether her client is guilty or not she knows he deserves a fair trial but that means her life as well as those closest to her could be in real danger.

Along with the case of Wade Darling who is accused of killing his family, of which the reader throughout will be wondering whether he did indeed kill them or not, there is the back story of Neve herself and why did her husband suddenly disappear one evening. Both storylines had me well and truly gripped.

As a reader you will wonder what you would do in Neve’s shoes. She is torn as even if she throws the case, it will leave her integrity as a barrister in doubt so there is no real win situation for her and you can feel the pressure she is under with the threat of exposure coming from more than one angle.

Conviction is a well plotted novel that grabs you from the off. It’s one that gives you food for thought, especially with how it all ends that left my head in a spin. The growing tension has you racing through the pages and it makes for some compulsive reading. It’s definitely one of those stories that will stay with you for long after you turn the last page. A highly addictive thriller that will chill you to the bone!
