I’m gonna try and keep this spoiler free!!

We follow Daisy and Nina, two young woman (15 and 16, respectively) who are trying to navigate their experiences of trauma and the impact this has on their lives.

The story is haunting and atmospheric, and Sullivan managed to balance the eerie and creepy with the seriousness of experiences of trauma to deliver a really relatable and bingeable read.

I’m addition, the story is effortlessly inclusive, with a Bi FMC and non-binary best friend, which is wonderful to see, especially in YA novels.

I will say that this is a little on the “Young” side of YA and I did find the writing and dialogue to reflect that, however once I got into the writing style I was hooked to the story.

This is one I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quick, suspenseful read through the spooky season.

(There are some serious themes in this book, so you may want to check trigger warnings before jumping in)
