As the Ice Melts by R.J. Jones

3.0

Hmmmm. Marcus was an absolute prat in book 1 [bc:As the Leaves Fall|29371449|As the Leaves Fall (Love for the Seasons, #1)|R.J. Jones|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1456807721s/29371449.jpg|49621305]. Hated him with the force of a thousand suns. Really wondered if he could redeem himself. I have to say that up until about 40%, I still thought he was a jerk. I couldn't figure out why he was such a dick to Adam at the chip shop. He gradually improved as the book went on... but, and I recognize that I am solidly in the minority here, I didn't feel the connection between Adam and Marcus. The bits flirting at the club then the night Marcus got drunk and.. it sort of fell flat to me. I think I needed more togetherness or something. More of a connection. Marcus' disabilities were fascinating and the way they were handled was done well. I just.... want.... more, I guess. I did LOVE Marcus' friends. Great guys. And Mum and Gran, lovely secondary characters. Hope there is a book 3 because I really dig this author's writing style.
