Drive Me Wild by Melanie Harlow

2.0

This book had one huge problem and that was Griffin.

This was compared to [b:It Happened One Summer|55659629|It Happened One Summer (Bellinger Sisters, #1)|Tessa Bailey|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1604991895l/55659629._SY75_.jpg|86795919] and that is one my favs of last year so I had to check this book out. Except for the Schitt's Creek inspired story, there was nothing alike.
I love me some grumpy-sunshine romance so I am okay with the hero being closed off at first but this was not good.
First of all, I hated Griffin. He wasn't a grumpy hero. He was rude, mean and at times condescending. Not only to our heroine but literally everyone in this small town. He was mean to even his mother. On the other hand, Blair was the epitome of a sunshine character. I couldn't help but feel she was too good for him. He didn't even act like he cared for her. I have no idea why she fell for him in the first place. She found him honest, hard working and hot (this is literally what she says in the book) but does it really excuse him being mean and rude to everyone around him? Especially to people who loves him and wants the best for him? There are also a few scenes where he laughs at her. Excuse me, but what the hell?
And after everything he does to hurt her, he doesn't even grovel at the end. Even his sister asks Blair whether he groveled to get her back but Blair is like "ummm something like that". She is so hopelessly in love with this caveman. I just wanted another guy to come and be with her at the end.

To be honest, except for the romance this book was fine. I might pick up more from this author since none of the other characters were annoying and her writing wasn't bad.
