I absolutely adored the story of Macon and Lennon, two of the most angstiest couples I’ve ever read about. The tropes of this book got me.

Best friends brother ✅

Angst/growing pains ✅
Toxic love ✅
Enemies to lovers ✅

All of these tropes came alive in the book and I fell so hard for them both. I loved how despite Macon being portrayed as this messy, guy who likes to get high and fuck actually has so much depth to him, he wants to protect his sister and mother from their abusive dad, he’s so talented at art and drawing, he spends his time working at a recreational Center with kids, Macon may have a hard exterior but for Lennon he opened up so much.

I loved how Lennon started off as this shy kind of girl who sort of let people bulldoze over her including her best friend Claire and people that hate her such as Sam (Macon’s on/off friends with benefits) and Macon himself. But with Macon challenging her and as Lennon grew into her own person she started to stand up for herself.

The way their relationship developed was so amazing to see, they’ve both circled around eachother quietly for so long and when they exploded it was fire. Their chemistry and smut were
