Emotional Whiplash!!!

Those are the only two words to explain how this book made me feel. It’s jam packed full of every single emotion! From fear and dread to lust and hyper awareness to anger and confusion. Rebecca Quinn quite literally exhausted me mentally with this roller coaster ride and I enjoyed every single moment.

There were moments when sobbed and geared up and my chest hurt in so many ways for so many reasons and I had to pause my reading in order to let it out. But let’s be real, DNFing was never an option because to be quite frank you’re gonna always wanna know what happens next.

So many things happen that made me either want to throttle Eden to within an inch of her life of take my panties off and get into sub positions with her!! And let’s not talk about Jasper and Lucky!!! Those two pining for each other was one thing but when they’re finally together and getting it on, oh my gawd! That shit is hot as fuck and funny as hell!!! Beau is such a hard assed dream boat and Dom…… We’ll Dom requires time, time to think and assess and accept things because he has to be sure about it before he lets it in. So, he’s forgiven for his behavior in book one.

But Jayk— my most cherished and belovedly broken Jaykob. I relate to him and understand him, I see how he feels because I can relate to him in so many harsh ways. I’m so close to think maybe he needs a belligerent night of letting go and kneeling for Jasper in complete submission in order to stop allowing his past and the lingering torments of it from eating him alive….

There’s so much to unpack within these pages, outside of the messy panty spice and action packed dramas. There’s PTSD reps, coming out per se, over coming guilt and self deprecation, and self discovery. The book is a journey and a heavy one at that, far more distressing mentally and emotionally than book and Rebecca did an amazing job animating her mere words into emotions that will probably resonate with you for a lifetime. Definitely has my vote as one of the most underrated debut authors of 2023!!!!
