Sex Is a Funny Word: A Book about Bodies, Feelings, and You by Cory Silverberg

5.0

Oct 2019: We are ready to cover some of the topics in this book, particularly safe touch, consent, self touch, review all relevant parts and every gender can like/do anything. We aren't ready for the whole book yet, so we've flagged relevant parts. We are having some issues with the whimsical and non-race-based coloring in the book. My guy is a literal thinker. He's already confusing the green hairy chest with the Hulk and now talks about the Hulk's nipples and what country green people come from.

Oct 2018: This book is really great. The diversity of characters, families, abilities, body sizes, relationships, points of view—it seems like everyone can feel represented and find a character or personality type they can resonate with. It’s too advanced for our son at this moment, but it’s at the top of my list for the next stage of this discussion.
