Ms. Marvel, Vol. 2: Generation Why by G. Willow Wilson

5.0

As someone who loves comic books, but is generally pretty meh about the superhero genre, I love Kamala Khan as Ms. Marvel.

The writing is snappy, fun, and brimming with 21st century energy and references. The art in this volume does as much storytelling as the words themselves. There is frequently an almost anime cuteness to Khan when she is especially excited and her eyes widen into literal giant circles.

It is so much fun to watch Khan, who already has a strong moral compass, develop her abilities and figure out exactly how she wants to be a Superhero. In this book she meets a few other superheroes, who offer her mentorship and help - when she needs it. She also finds a shiny new sidekick, who adds another fun layer to her battles and her life.

Much love. Very suggest.
