This book starts out with a bang. Quite literally. You'll be hooked from the start. Two people (an unlikely pair) are forced into a situation in which they form a bond only they can understand. No matter what others think or say, they stick to their friendship. She wants it to be more, but he is out of her league. The book contains some thriller, some romance, a little bit of humor (though it is definitely not a comedy) and a lot of prospective and deep thoughts. The story is taken from the girls POV. The characters are intriguing and engaging. The writing is great (especially since it is a teen's POV... it's not all Dawson Creek-esque, where the teens seem smarter than they should be at that age.) :D Although it is a YA, I'm quite past that age and still found myself absorbed in the story. It flows smoothly and is easy to read. It is a YA novel, but I would not recommend it for anyone younger than 16-18, due to some of the subject matters involved. It does have some darker bits to it.
