Entangled Life: How Fungi Make Our Worlds, Change Our Minds & Shape Our Futures by Merlin Sheldrake
informative
medium-paced
5.0
"For Dante, God lives just below the surface of the soil."
Who knew writing about fungi could be so eloquent? Merlin Sheldrake certainly has a way with words, and despite it being an entirely informative, non-fiction book, he has a very eloquent writing style that one might expect in a Gothic book. His imagery is vivid and he's able to weave different points together, capture a reader with an interesting anecdote, then tying it in with research and painting a fascinating picture.
He poses a lot of interesting questions too, and while you will learn a lot, you'll also come out wondering what the limits of fungi are, and what our future might look like if we take different paths.
Sheldrake made science very poetic.
