A nice pickup from the previous book that had me disconnected for a bit. Cibola Burn was much more engaging. Admittedly, I was a little cautious as I was hoping that "aliens" weren't going to be a thing in this universe, and I thought that was the direction it was headed, but I'm pleased with where it went. Focused on the human elements, but also exploring "alien" biology (love the little terms like "plant analogs")-- all of which with basis in real biology.
Murtry reminds me of a Director Krennic type, from Rogue One. Solid antagonist.
Eager to move to the next of this series!
