Thor: God of Thunder, Volume 1: The God Butcher by Jason Aaron

3.0

Reading Marvel Thor is always a mixed bag for me. I usually enjoy the art and the story, but as a pagan, it always leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Marvel's really bad at not being mythologically correct.

Esad Ribic is, without question, one of my favorite artists. Period. End of discussion.

The story itself is really good writing, I want to see more Thor in the Viking age, writers.

I just...I'm not really sure how I liked it. Reading it felt like blasphemy.
Really well drawn, articulated blasphemy.

It'd be blasphemy to pretty much any religion, actually. Because the God Butcher kills gods in some really horrifying ways.

I'm hoping the next entry involves Thor time traveling back to where Gorr started killing gods and kills him before he destroys anybody's pantheon.
