Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman

5.0

It took me a while to finish reading this book as I (coincidentally with Eleanor's situation during the chapter I was reading) got into a depressive slump and couldn't manage to read anything for months.

But I'm so glad I managed to finish reading Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine. The themes of loneliness, alienation, friendship, and discovering oneself really makes it a heartwarming and engaging read.

Eleanor herself is, as one might say, a bit of an oddball. A social misfit, she never really understood "the people". But as she is thrown into certain circumstances and manages to form a relationship with Raymond, her character begins to grow and flourish. She also had to confront her past traumas with a counselor and for me, those moments really highlight her character development.

A humorous and emotional book. I love it.
