A Year in Provence by Peter Mayle

3.0

I would have absolutely loved this book if 50% of its content wasn't the author complaining about their top-down housing renovations. I loved the moments when they explored the villages, spoke equally about people they were doing business with at their winery and house, and described their culture shocks (the dinner party when they came underdressed, their meals at restaurants, etc.) A very dear friend gave me this book, and I love it even more for that, but the snottiness and entitlement from the author were surprising.
