I don’t know who I loved more: Zeke or Cade. I don’t know who I hated more: Zeke or Cade.

This was a good book, with some excellent characters. Zeke and Cade are dark and dangerous and Raven is powerful enough for me to respect her, but with a nice.. submissive quality to her that makes her pleasant to read about when faced off with these two men trying to control her. She is not quite badass but not far off the mark. I liked her. I also liked all of her introspection. My heart panged for her when she felt betrayed at times.

Limited plot as far as I can tell. I hope it picks up a little in book 2. But I don’t read books for plot, I read books for characters. What does happen is generally political intrigue, which is never a bad thing. There’s enough going on for me to keep turning the pages and waiting with bated breath for what is about to happen next.

There was a bit of a meandering part where it’s all about emotion and betrayal… we seem to end up with elliptical dialogue with no moving forward which was fine but also a little boring after I flipped the proverbial page and found myself back embroiled with Raven’s feelings.

There are a number of typos in the version I have just read (and this isn’t an ARC, I paid for this book). Bit frustrating when all it needed was a second pair of eyes to sort out these minor errors.

Overall, thoroughly good read. I’m intrigued enough to read the later books and I’m so glad insta recommended this book to me.
