Very dark for middlegrade but the most interesting one so far. Great character development, well written, interesting plot that's venturing from everything we've seen so many times before. 

I do hate when HUGE events happen literally at the last sentences and understand series setup but by book 4 this readers will get book 5, which should be interesting based on this setup.
