this book went beyond my expectation! now, how should i start reviewing this...

let me first comment about the pacing of the story and the writing. ana huang never disappoint when it comes to writing. i always love her books ever since i read twisted series (and reread them whenever i had the chance to) so it was not a surprise that i'd come to love this book as well. i appreciate the fast pace as i am not a fan of slow-moving-plot and there aren't any unnecessary fillers which did not once left me bored. NOW THAT'S A HUGE POINT. most romances got me bored when i reached about 30% of the book but this one? yeah i was hooked! i finished this in less than 3 days (i could do it in 1 day but i had a job ok) and it was such a great experience to finally got this book off my reading list. i can't wait to read the rest of the series. regarding her writing, i just love how easy for me to follow her story without pausing over words i don't understand or complicated sentences that left you confused. the sentences weren't too plain or boring to read but also aren't too verbose or complex to comprehend. it's like a perfect mixture of simple yet magnificent! oh and there were some italian words so i had to google translate it but it wasn't difficult to do so & i don't mind. dante is italian so it made sense to include some italian.

second, i would like to touch about the characters (mainly fl and ml). i went into this without jugdement on how an individual was supposed to act or not cause i want to understand and warm up to each character. there are lots of book that i couldnt enjoyed to the fullest because i was busy hating the main characters and not being able to see the plot due to my judgement. hence, i was finally able to not only became open-minded but also found both fl & ml to be likable and relatable. both of them are flawed (in terms of personality) which was good to me cause no human beings are perfect and what i love the most was the growth of vivian and dante as a person and also a partner. it's one of the things i look forward to read when it comes to books and ana huang successfully delivered a good character growth which i applaud for. it's not easy to write a book ok so i appreciate the effort here. not only that, there are instances in the book where i could connect with and hit my soft spot as i also went through quite similar phase/situation as the characters back then, and it also taught me a lesson in life. it might looked ridiculous like everyone in the book was filthy rich but WE'RE READING A SPICY ROMANCE OK SO IT'S A GIVEN 😂 im okay with ridiculous jobs or made up countries as long as it was believable in the book, im sold. im a picky person but not THAT picky.

of course this isn't perfect for every reader out there, but i assure you, if you aren't a picky or judgemental person, you might warm up to this book. cause i did. and i am judgemental. very judgemental 😂

i don't want to spoil any plot as other reviews already done that, so this review is my insight on the book as a whole. if you want to know the plot, go read it.
