Much better than the last book in the series, but not without its problems. The author really needs to hire an editor: I caught several grammatical and spelling errors (e.g., "statue" was spelled "statute" more than once). Overall, I don't recommend the series. It has some great potential, but most of it went nowhere or fell flat.
Moderate: Body horror, Death, Physical abuse, Suicide, Violence, and Vomit
Minor: Confinement, Panic attacks/disorders, Blood, Kidnapping, Grief, Death of parent, and Murder
Human experimentation. brainwashing, city under hostile occupation
