Abducting Abby by S.E. Smith

2.0

This was my first Alien abduction book, and I am giving it 2.5 stars. Overall I just thought the book was "ok". The plot and the characters were just fine, there was nothing in this book that really blew me away or made me want more. One thing I did enjoy was the fast pace that neither rushed nor slowed down, therefore I was able somewhat enjoy the story. Another thing that I did enjoy was that Smith was able to create some original species for this novel. I have never heard of dragon shifting aliens until I picked up this book, so it was nice to see some fresh ideas. I also think that Smith created a world or universe that readers could easily picture themselves in. She added many details that helped me imagine what Zoran's world was like.

When it comes to the main characters I was glad that they were both introduced separately before they ever met. Zoran, the male alien lead, was sweet and at many times controlling and jealous. His demands mixed with Abby’s will to be independent made for many interesting moments. Overall I thought this book was filled with interesting characters and an even more intriguing universe, but I just did not enjoy the overall plot of this book. I may one day give this author another go but for now, I am not sure if Alien abduction stories are for me. As always, thanks to those who read this review. Much Love!
