Dear UK writers,

If you’re going to set your story in the US, just make your character from the UK because we can always, ALWAYS clock you. We don’t say wages, we don’t call our grandmas “Nan”, we don’t start sentences with “Right”, we don’t ring the front desk- we call it and we definitely don’t tell someone they’ve “smashed it”. It’s like the opposite of Dick Van Dyke with his terrible cockney accent in Mary Poppins. Fully took me out of the story which wasn’t that great anyways so I guess it was a wash. 🤷🏼‍♀️
