Felicity and Hutton have been friends forever. After reconnecting when Hutton moves back home for the summer, they begin to spend more time together and they both feel like things are shifting. Then during her high school reunion, Felicity drinks a little too much and blurts out to the high school mean girl that she is engaged to Hutton. When she calls him begging for his help, he rushes to her rescue. They decide to keep up the ruse and pretend to be engaged.

I love these two, they are quirky and unexpected MCs. This story is not just about a fake relationship or them finding love, but it is about their individual journeys to trying to heal from their own trauma. Both Felicity and Hutton have so much anxiety from past trauma, but they display it is different ways. Hutton hides himself from the world and believes that he is unable to be in a healthy relationship. While Felicity is terrified that anyone who loves her will leave her (thanks to her mom) and will cut off her hair when she is anxious.

Felicity and Hutton make each other feel safe. They have built up so much trust over the years of being friends that they can be themselves around each other. Even though they resist their feelings they can't help falling for each other. They balance each other out so well and support each other. Hutton helps Felicity learn to trust in love and Felicity helps him tackle his anxiety.

Tropes: childhood friends to lovers, billionaire, fake engagement
