most adult thrillers tend to be the same to me. a group of adults who all have secrets, a mysterious location, and a short time frame for the book. and yet, so little tends to happen until the very end of the book that it makes it very hard to get through. while the reveal was pretty fun emma being the big villian and getting to hear her sick thoughts through all of it is quite enjoyable, pretty much the only part of the book i felt super engaged in rather than just listening to . in all i definitely think there are better thrillers that kept me more engaged, but i can’t bring myself to give this any less than a 3 bc i don’t think it deserves that :/
