Honestly, I was really excited for this book, it sounded so good and it was to some degree, but it would have been even better if I'd known that it was a spin-off of a series. There's almost no character development or backstory because again, its a spinoff so you'd get that in the original series, but I had no knowledge and found myself getting really confused at times due to lack of context. I did like some parts, but I wish I'd read the first series because I think this one has potential that I didn't really get to experience this time around.
