The Outsider by Stephen King

4.0

Classic King crime novel with supernatural touch. It reminds me of Mr. Mercedes trilogy and kinda continues the story, Holly Gibney plays important role in this, which I is great since I find Holly awesome. I loved the start, the setting, where boy gets brutally killed and raped and the coach, loving father and generally man respected by everyone seems the one who did it. Everything turns out not as simple but I personally admire how King shows one event leading to the downfall of the whole family. It was tragic and powerful. And generally this story has lots to think about afterwards: morality, regrets, broken people and events that cannot be erased no matter how much time passes.
I didn't like the supernatural element that much. Especially how random and predictable the whole encounter with the main antagonist seemed. And at times storytelling felt a bit slow. But generally it was very gripping read, I couldn't read this book as fast as I wanted but my thoughts returned to it many times and that means a lot.
