The Fourth Friend by Joy Ellis

2.5

The writing is increasingly poor and the plot is unbearably full of holes. So many unbelievable things, all the "plot twists" were telegraphed ahead, and everything falls flat.

Even the opening scene of the plane accident in which one of the main characters loses his 4 best mates, which should be daunting and gripping, is mostly boring.

Everybody's reactions are bizarre, there are too many convenient reveals/technological advances, some scenes are rushed as if it was nothing whereas important things happen in them, it all feels lazy.

And what point on earth did it serve that the protagonist end up having a brain lesion rather than merely psychological damage
