Daredevil: Born Again by Frank Miller

4.0

Honestly a really great storyline, and it makes sense why this would be considered one of the Character’s most iconic story arcs. Daredevil is a character I’ve always loved, and this story absolutely helps prove why. In this story he is put through the wringer, has his life absolutely destroyed with nothing left. But even when he’s losing everything, he picks himself up and keeps going.

One of the best parts of this storyline was the different perspectives we got of Matt, Karen, and Ben Urich. These characters are all struggling in their own ways, Matt with his life falling apart, Karen with her drug addiction, and Ben with his fight against corruption in the media. Each of these characters shined in this storyline.

My one complaint would honestly have to be how it ended. It just felt a little bit anti climactic to have this personal storyline between Matt and the Kingpin build up over the entire course of the issues, only for it to end with Daredevil and Captain America taking down a mercenary hired by the kingpin. However having the final panel still end with Matt, reborn and happy with his life after overcoming everything was still very well done. Only wish we could have seen more encounters between Matt and Fisk.

Overall great story, understandable why it’s iconic, and why it’s so popular to be adapted in other Daredevil media. Still think season 3 of the show honestly did it better. 4.5/5
