Seven Days in the Art World by Sarah Thornton

5.0

A couple of summers ago I had a coworker make up a reading list for me, I probably got half way through. I think this was one of them. I was a great read for me. I went to art school myself, so the subject world is a familiar one. I recognized many of the people and places mentioned and found the chapter on art school amusing. I have yet to experience the art world outside of school myself ( that was enough for me), but I thought this peak into it really interesting. Thornton writes quite accessibly and keeps a good sociological point of view throughout. I great read for anyone with any interest in art and the comings and goings of that world.
