The Woman in Me by Britney Spears

dark hopeful inspiring sad medium-paced

4.0

I am not a fan of her writing but I can hear her voice when reading.

It took me a whole year to finish this book because it was very difficult to digest what Britney had gone through. Let alone she went through for 13 years - which she wrote in great detail in her book. I have been a fan of Britney since 2008 and I didn’t know she went through this much until I become an adult and have access to all these information.

I could see her getting even bigger and bigger if she wasn’t locked into conservatorship at her peak. It did not make sense how her father was able to put her into conservatorship with her obvious achievements. I am sure if this happens today, people will openly talk about mental health and how to heal and Britney will be able to get so much help now.

Based on how she describes in her book, it also made so much sense why her recent performance looked so stiff and her dance movement was not lively like her early 2000s ones. I don’t know this woman, but I love her music. I am just so happy someone so sweet and so smart like Britney are finally free and able to live her life.
